Despite her very boring performance (I’m not saying poor or bad performance coz she sang well!) with little positive feedback last night, the 18-year old managed to hold on to her American Idol dreams. And I, for one, am glad! I just hope Ramiele Malubay will vindicate herself in the coming weeks. If you missed the show yesterday, here’s a rundown of the last few minutes of the elimination (c/o Charlotte.com) –
9:47 p.m. That leaves us with Presumptive American Idol Winner David Archuleta, Brooke White, David Hernandez and Ramiele Malubay. Archie and Brooke have far-and-away the most dedicated fan bases this season — cults, really — so they’re both in no real danger. That leaves David Hernandez and Ramiele. Switching things up just a bit, Ramiele Malubay, the last person in line, is safe, leaving Pizza Boy in the Bottom Three.
9:55 p.m. Randy says that this is the right Bottom Three. Paula says she’s never seen “a more stronger Bottom Three.” Not even late in a season? Really? That being said, she agrees that this was the right Bottom Three. And Simon agrees too.
9:58 p.m. Ryan has caught on that torturing Kristy is fun, announcing, “America has decided that Kristy… [loooong pause] you are safe.” After looking initially surprised, David says, “Things happen for a reason.” David Hernandez was not the least talented singer left in the competition and he wasn’t the worst on Tuesday’s show. Draw your own conclusions.
I was finally able to catch American Idol LIVE tonight! Woohoo! =) I usually watch the performances on YouTube but this time I was able to catch the show and watch Ramiele Malubay sing! Unfortunately, her singing fell flat to my ears =( Even before the three AI judges said a word, I knew they would not like her performance. To borrow Randy Jackson’s assessment, Ramiele Malubay’s choice of song (and the way she sang it) was BORING. Of course, Simon Cowell was mean as usual. What else is new??
He said that everything the Pinay sensation did was boring — the walking to and fro the stage, her mannerisms, etc. Sigh! The only good thing that was said about Ramiele Malubay tonight came from Paula Abdul (who else?? lol) who loved the way the singer from Miramar dressed up. For sure, she really looked gorgeous and more lady-like than any of her other performances =) I hope Ramiele would do better next week! And guys, don’t forget to vote for her!
In one of her many interviews, the latest Pinay sensation on American Idol named Regine Velasquez (aka Asia’s Songbird) as her inspiration. Regine is very popular and talented singer in the Philippines, and now counts Ramiele Malubay as one of the singers that looks up to her. When the Songbird (as she is fondly called) learned that the AI finalist named her as an inspiration, she said in Tagalog, “Ang cute naman! E, di happy ako. Good luck. Sana makapasok talaga siya. Sana siya ang manalo. Ipagdasal natin para masaya at meron tayong Pinoy na winner doon.” In translation, “That’s so cute! I’m happy about it. Good luck. I hope she (Ramiele Malubay) will win. Let’s pray for her so that we’ll have a Filipino winner there.” How nice of Regine to say that! No wonder youngsters look up to her.. =) Her parting words to Ramiele Malubay? “We support you. The whole Philippines is supporting you.”
YES! Fans of the latest Pinay sensation on American Idol is rallying for their beloved singer! One blogger even said it might not be Ramiele Malubay because the photo “looks fake” (I have to disagree with this, the photo is really *real*). Others said it was a joke. “Those hands definitely are not touching her. It’s clearly a picture made for fun and they obviously just put their hands there to make it look like they were touching her breasts. It’s called a joke. Scandal? Come on…” Definitely, Ramiele Malubay’s naughty photos does not consist a scandal. But you can be sure it tainted her sweet image =I
One supporter also dismissed the photo as a scam, adding, “Do not stop voting for her someone is jealous of Ramiele Malubay’s popularity… Filipinos it’s time to vote vote vote …disregard this crazy creation and invention by someone who is jealous and angry that Ramiele’s is getting all the attention .. So please vote vote and vote for her…..so she will win this competition..ignore this.” If you’re one of Ramiele’s fans, stand up and be counted — continue voting y’hear?? =)
After the emotional “American Idol” final cut last Thursday, the gang had a bash in West Hollywood, California. At the so-called big Top 12 soiree (Ramiele Malubay present!) at the Pacific Design Center in Hollywood, Fox’s publicity guys let the the lucky dozen AI finalists face the press for the first time. Ramiele Malubay was still a bit teary-eyed after the loss of her “closest friend” during the competition, Danny Noriega. But she said, “I feel good, though, knowing that he’ll be coming to the show and sitting in the audience and supporting me.” Atta girl! Keep the bad emotions in check and keep the good flowing in! =) At the after-show party, Danny Noriega could barely muster the energy to talk about his elimination. You could see it in his eyes, the spark of energy and sass were gone. “I’m super sad,” he mumbled. That prompted Ramiele Malubay to say she’d dedicate her AI run from here on out to him. “I’m here for Danny and me now,” she said. Too sweet!
